In February 2016 I wrote my first proper bucket list. It included 30 things I wanted to complete before the end of 2016. Well, that didn’t go exactly as planned. I think I wanted to do too many things in one year. Two years later I have done almost all the things on the list. So, here is an update on what I have done from my 2016 bucket list and what I have yet to complete.

If you were awake at 8 am last Wednesday you must have witnessed the thunderstorm in Glasgow. It is a very unusual event happening once a year or once every few years in Glasgow. So in the half an hour I witnessed the storm I decided to make an account of it, with the thought that by the time I finish writing I would have witnessed the changing of the weather a couple of times and so I did.
Henry David Thoreau once wrote: “Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influence of each.” Or in other words live to the fullest. I guess that’s where the idea for the bucket list came from. The widely popular term, which original meaning was "things you have to do before you die or kick the bucket" seems to be in everyone's diary nowadays. The meaning of the term has slightly changed to be more of a wish list before a certain deadline. Thus, bucket lists ideas vary from "My summer bucket lists" to "50 things to do before you graduate" or "25 Places to visit before you turn 25". One of the most common bucket lists consist of the promises and wishes we make at the beginning of each New Years. So, here are 30 things I wish to do before the end of 2016. |
