​      North Brabant is the second-largest province in Holland and for a year it was my home. Living in Tilburg, I got to travel a lot to nearby places. The cities are easily reachable by train and make for the best day trips. Read on to find out what not to miss in those 5 cities in North Brabant. 

​  In October I had an impromptu holiday, visiting my mother in the north of Italy, in a small town close to Verbania. If you follow me on Instagram, then it should not be a secret to you that I am in love with Lago Maggiore and the nearby towns. Ever since I laid my eyes on it in the summer of 2011, Lago Maggiore has been a favourite place of mine. In this post, I will share with you some things to do on your holiday if you happen to be in Verbania, Italy. 

 ​You can go almost anywhere by train in the Netherlands. I think that during my master’s, I took the train more times than in my entire life before that. And I loved it. I have always liked trains. What I rarely noticed before were the train stations. In the Netherlands that was simply impossible. The railway stations are the first thing you notice in a new town and you can immediately get a feeling of the place, just by looking at the train station buildings. Needless to say, I was fascinated by the train stations in each town I was visiting. They were the first thing I was taking pictures of, as each of them were so different from the ones before. Of course, a photo of the train station in Tilburg, the one I used the most, is missing as it was under construction for almost the whole year I spent there. But here are photos featuring some of the other railway stations of the towns I visited while living in Holland.
